The Craft of Steven Medhurst

Nature guides, drives and stimulates me. Living in the natural stillness, at the heart of the Somerset levels, provides me with an unlimited wealth of inspiration. Whatever I see and feel around me, I try to take back to my workshop.

My jewellery is inspired by both organic forms and the natural forces in nature: flowers turning towards the sun, sunlight falling on the twisted branches of beech trees, a dragonfly dipping across the pond, even the purposeful flight of a hornet.

My work is both body art and body armour. I see my pieces as talismans that both protect and adorn the wearer.
